I am looking forward to hosting the Advance Evangelists Summit at Foothills Alliance Church, in Calgary on February 15–17, 2023.
I am writing to invite you to join me and to bring your team members and friends who have a heart for making Jesus known.
It promises to be a special time of mutual sharpening and encouragement for those of us stirred “to do the work of an evangelist.” You can do the work of an evangelist on a university campus, as a church planter, a youth worker, on a street corner, on a stage, in a pub, online, or on your patio. You might share the gospel in front of a crowd, or delight in gossiping the gospel over coffee one-on-one.
Whatever the evangelism expression- we all need fresh fire and inspiration!
Please plan to join me for a special time of encouragement and equipping. We will gather under the theme, “Called and Commissioned.” Some of us are graced by God with the gift of evangelist – we do want to identify and encourage Canadian evangelists…
However, we are all commissioned by Jesus to show his love and share his gospel. God’s crazy big dream remains the same: the whole Church taking the whole Gospel to the whole world!

Bill Hogg
Message Canada National Director
Dr. Bill Hogg Is Message Canada’s National Director. Bill’s passion is communicating the good news of Jesus, igniting the fires of evangelism, encouraging and equipping God’s people to share the gospel. Bill dreams of seeing a new generation of Canadian evangelists raised up by God and released into the harvest fields. He also longs to see teams of downwardly mobile urban missionaries – Eden Teams – who put roots down deep in broken postal codes to share their lives, share the gospel, and bless and elevate the poor. Bill is a published author and former radio talk show host and has served as a pastor, professor, evangelist, and a movie extra! He was involved in pioneer evangelism in his native Scotland, developing Youth for Christ in his role as National Evangelist. He has been involved in assessing, coaching, training, and supporting church planters for several years. Bill is part of the SEND Institute Missiologists Council. He also serves on the Church Planting Canada leadership team. His doctoral research focused on the missional renewal of the church.
Ben Jack
Global Head of Advance
Ben Jack is the global head of Advance, a partnership between the Message Trust and the Luis Palau Association which seeks to equip, encourage, and empower the church for evangelism – stirring up the gift of the evangelist.
Ben is the author of “The Simple Gospel” and “My Lord and My God.”
He lives in Manchester, England with his wife Naomi and their pug Toshi.
Travis Holownia
Resurgence Initiatives, Founder
Travis Holownia is the visionary leader and founder of Resurgence Initiatives; a movement started in 2008 seeking to inspire people to arise together. Resurgence exists to reach people, revive churches, and release leaders. His greatest desire is to see this generation experience what it means to live in the power and presence of the Holy Spirit. God has used Travis in a catalytic way. His speaking and teaching inspires youth, young adults, leaders, pastors, and all ages by calling the Spirit of God to stir and awaken hearts. He is involved in a few catalytic global movements working to raise a generation of evangelists. Before Resurgence launched, Travis served for 8 years in the leadership of Christian youth conferences worldwide, and prior to that worked in a management role in the oil industry. Travis is married to Jessica, and holds degrees both in Engineering and Theology.
Becky Pippert
Becky Pippert Ministries, Founder
Becky is an evangelist, international speaker, and the author of 12 books. Her most recent book, “Stay Salt: The World Has Changed Our Message Must Not,” was selected by the Gospel coalition for “Best Book in Evangelism and Apologetics for 2020.” She has given evangelistic outreaches throughout the world. Becky has received two honorary doctorates, most recently the Doctorate of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary. She and her husband Dick are the parents of 3 adult children and grandparents to 6 delightful grandchildren. When not travelling they reside in Holland, Michigan.
